Kate Rose Johnson is a Pacific Northwest artist and author-illustrator.
She grew up in Saco, Maine and lives in Seattle, WA.
After earning a BFA from Boston University, Johnson spent time in NYC before relocating to Seattle. Conservation and community are core themes in her work, providing as much inspiration now as it did when Johnson was a young child exploring the local Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge in Wells, ME. Painting in the marshes of the Skagit Wildlife Recreation area, or near the snowy summit of Mt. Baker (Kulshan), Johnson finds many parallels between these coastal cities and loves exploring the wilderness with easel and kit while thinking about the invisible threads that connect us.
